Ethan's Bar MitzvahIt was a great morning to take photos outside before Ethan's Bar Mitzvah at East End Temple. Following the service there was a luncheon just across town in Union Square at Blue Water Grill. The adults dined upstairs while downstairs at Metropolis Ethan and his friends played games and partied. Highlights included basketball, fuseball and singing!
Sima and Ethan's WeddingLiberty House Wedding, Liberty State Park, Jersey City
Sunday of Labor Day weekend was a perfect day for Sima and Ethan Oster's nuptials at Liberty House in Jersey City. The bride was radiant and smiley in her wedding gown and the groom looked cool in his tan linen suit minus a tie. The Liberty House venue was a perfect fit for them. A cloth chuppah with wood poles held up by glass sand pedestals adorned the manicured lawn. The outdoor terrace was for cocktails that led into a pavilion for dancing. Off the dance floor was a bar and dining area that could be whatever you wanted to make it. They kept it simple but trendy with succulents and candles as centerpieces on the tables. The ceremony began at twilight creating a private and romantic mood. The couple ended the ceremony not with a traditional walk back down the aisle but an impromptu receiving line greeting family and friends. The DJ kicked off the night with the couple making an entrance into a Hora and the dancing continued late into the evening. Friends and family mingled, danced and partied late into the night. They showered Sima and Ethan with so much love. Dessert was make your own s'mores.
Sara's Bat Mitzvah, June 16, 2018Sara Roger-Gordon's Bat Mitzvah was on one of the first beautiful days in June. We headed across the street from East End Temple to the park to take family photos. Her party was at the Manny Cantor Center at the Educational Alliance on the Lower East Side. It is a big loft-like space with wood floors and floor to ceiling windows on two sides with a wrap around terrace. The space was decked out in purple accents created, designed and handmade by her Dad. He made individual letters in lights that spelled out her name. The centerpieces on the tables had a small light inside surrounded by clear marbles. A remote control was next to the vases and when pressed the marbles glowed different colors. At the end of the evening all the kids went home with a t-shirt celebrating Sara.
